Blogs appear and disappear from the blogosphere all the time. Since I started NOSVC in 2007 and its predecessor ArtMusicLife in 2002 I can tell you one thing – starting and maintaining a blog isn’t easy and isn’t always fun. I know – it looks like all you do is bang on the keyboard a few times and journalistic gold pops up on the screen. That isn’t what happens – it takes a lot of time and effort and unfortunately a lot of thought to do a blog people will like and appreciate. (It takes a lot of time and effort to create a blog people don’t like or appreciate too.)
It is always nice to get an email from someone you know informing you that they are going to take a run at a blog. It is especially nice when it looks like something that may be useful. To that end we’d like to welcome Raleigh Music Listings to the party. Self-described as a “music lover” Joe plans to blog about the local music scene here in Raleigh. His goal is to reach the occasional music lover and help them determine what up and coming group might fit their musical tastes and help them learn about the show before it happens as opposed to what happens so frequently when you hear about a show after the fact. He already has this week up so if you think might be interested in catching a show check him out here or add the feed to your RSS reader here.
Best of luck to you Joe – be patient and keep posting.
