So I heard about this new size at Starbucks the 31oz Trenta and immediately thought what a great idea. Then I remembered even with the amount of coffee I like to drink anything over a medium there makes me shake and gives me really bad caffeine withdrawal – sometimes a headache.
Then I saw where it was being released first – (Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Hawaii, Nevada and Arizona) and thought is it just me or are most of those states south of the Mason Dixon line?
That brought me to only one logical conclusion. In “Starbuckese” (which I refuse to speak even in their store – they know what I mean when I say medium) the word Trenta must mean Bubba-sized or Redneck-big.
Figure it this way a Venti Pumpkin Spice Latte (Whole Milk / Whipped Cream) at 20oz is 510 Calories 20g of Fat. Increase that proportionally to the new Trenta size and you get approximately 760 Calories and 30g of Fat. Not saying it isn’t a good way to die but is Starbucks really trying to kill us here in the South? Check the video to the right to gain some perspective on how large the cup is – a bottle of wine has less liquid. Maybe the Krispy Kreme Challenge should make a detour past Starbucks – as long as you are going out may as well go all the way out. And while you are at it – quit wondering why we are fat in the south.

I don’t understand half of what you wrote here.
Me either – it is really just word soup. In the future I will try to stay away from words like Trenta, Venti and Latte. I know you don’t know coffee talk and I just like regular coffee anyway.
