Believe it or not – Raleigh is not the only city with a St. Patrick’s Day Parade. (Surprised me too!) Fortunately for us Charlotte waited to have theirs until the weekend of the NCAA Tournament so while we were down there on our off day we got to see the parade.
I have pictures of most of the highlights from the parade which included the Budweiser Clydesdales, the Carolina Garrison/501st Legion and a vehicle decked out like the Ghostbuster’s Ecto-1. It was a good parade but I didn’t see anything that resembled our Viking ship or any of the other floats we have in Raleigh. Bottom line? Sorry Charlotte but the Raleigh parade kicks your tail.
Am I biased? Maybe a little bit. It was a nice parade and while I am told Raleigh’s is bigger this one had a lot of floats and a couple of “helping hand” styled bands. More pictures after the jump.
