    Elvis, Bachman, and the Moose

Sometimes we count on people to give us the facts. Sometimes we should double-check the internet to verify before we say anything (at least get a best guess). I’m looking at you presidential candidates.

“Before we get started, let’s all say ‘Happy Birthday’ to Elvis Presley today,” Michele Bachmann told a crowd in Spartanburg, S.C. “We played you a little bit of ‘Promised Land’ when we pulled up. You can’t do better than Elvis Presley and we thought we would celebrate his birthday as we get started to celebrating Take Our Country Back tour.”

So – this one falls under pretty easy to verify – if you tried. Pretty stupid to mess up. And most importantly pretty tacky to tie Elvis to your political agenda. I asked the Elvis that lives in my office if this offended him and so far he has had no comment. Probably upset that someone could even confuse a birthday and the anniversary of a death. Then again I think he is on something. He just sits and stares at the moose on my white board all day. Maybe he is just wondering what “she” really said and whether it was true.
