“The Play” – UVA Wise vs. Emory and Henry

I don’t typically spend a lot of time chasing down stories on Division III football and don’t worry I’m not going to start. This one popped up amongst the twitters and given that I am vaguely familiar with this area of Virginia and it is an amazing play I figured it was worth the time and effort to post it. Odds are, you’ve never heard of UVa-Wise or Emory & Henry. That’s all right, we’re here to get you up to speed. Emory & Henry is a school located in Virginia, playing as the Wasps in the D-III Old Dominion Athletic Conference. UVa-Wise, or the University of Virginia’s College at Wise (you can see why they just use UVa-Wise), is a member of the NAIA’s Appalachian Athletic Conference and plays as the Highland Cavaliers. The two teams meet annually in what’s called the Southwest Virginia Bowl. Good? Good. [SOURCE]

So that sets the stage – what happens next has to be seen. So ummmm…  watch it. The Cavaliers are calling it “The Play” and the Wasps of Emory & Henry I’m sure they have some four-letter words of their own to describe it.
