Click on the cards to the right to see a video titled “Solitaire – How to Win Every Single Time.”
My ultimate winners’ guide for the most difficult professional card game, Solitaire. I don’t mess around.
Using terms like “PLOWERHOUSE” and “Think with your Brain – Make it Rain” this video is FULL of great quotes. (Can’t spell? Yeah – that’s me.) Yes – I double checked. This video was not created by BobG. It could have been but it wasn’t. This guy is playing to win money – he always hits the Solitaire tables in Vegas.
Yes – I am aware posting has been slow this week. It happens.
I know a lot of people who read this blog don’t know what SOPA is or why NOSVC would want you to take a second to think about boycotting it. Let’s hit some background and then some simple ways to avoid supporting a potential law that could be used to limit speech and hurt small companies.
The Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), also known as H.R. 3261, is a bill that was introduced in the United States House of Representatives on October 26, 2011. The bill expands the ability of U.S. law enforcement and copyright holders to fight online trafficking in copyrighted intellectual property and counterfeit goods. Now before the House Judiciary Committee, it builds on the similar PRO-IP Act of 2008 and the corresponding Senate bill, the PROTECT IP Act. [SOURCE]
So what will it do?
The government and corporations will be given expanded powers to block sites.
They can sue search engines to have links to sites removed.
They can cut off funds to websites. They can effectively remove any monetary support to a site. [SOURCE]
Basically speaking it could hurt small sites, bloggers and anyone that doesn’t have the resources to prevent the competition from being seen. Censorship by those that have the resources to make it happen.
What can you do? Stay informed – here is a good place to start and here is another one. Vote in November but vote with your wallet between now and then using this Android App (Or search Android Market for “Boycott SOPA”). Share what you know and speak out.
UPDATE: Another good SOPA/PIPA article - this one is from WordPress.
So the rumor is this video is actually Harrison Ford watching the Indiana Jones series for the first time. I am not 100% sure I believe it because he appears to like it. We’ll be in touch if any video emerges of him watching Star Wars.
Click the spud to the right to watch Harrison Ford watch Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones. And hope that against all odds you don’t break the space time continuum if Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones starts watching you.
Infinite loop or what was really in the Ark of the Covenant? Could be DANGEROUS.
And yes – that was a lot of build up for a video that is basically terrible. I am aware. (Better video here. Courtesy BobG.)
From the better late than never category comes this year’s Lego Christmas Village which might technically be last year’s but that is only so 2012 can have a new village.
The delay was partial procrastination and partial waiting for Cara’s Christmas present (a flash for the big camera). She took most of the pictures after the jump with the exception being the last five (she put her toy down and I played with it for a minute). If either one of us improves on using the flash before the village gets dismantled I will post again. From what I have seen so far it may take a while for us to get there. Although I can’t complain – it does pretty good right out of the box.
The village this year includes the Star Wars Nativity, a train (yes – we light rail before certain cities I know), all the recent seasonal sets and a first look at the Lego Superheroes collection starring Wonder Woman, Superman, Bat Man, Cat Woman and Lex Luthor. This year the Nativity scene grew into a larger part of the display with several building representing the city of Bethlehem. This village also showcases a RV park and of course Santa showering.
Yes – this is the “greatest. post. ever.” and possibly one of the great dreams a dreamer could ever have.
Just when I think Facebook is completely jumped the shark this happens and makes it interesting again.
In a word? AWESOME.
