And maybe not worthy of a whole post – but a definite moment of zen.
During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in the US and around the world. With their Mo’s, these men raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.
Once registered at www.movember.com, men start Movember 1st clean shaven. For the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men, known as Mo Bros, groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery. Supported by the women in their lives, Mo Sistas, Movember Mo Bros raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts.
They said annals.
So I don’t really know anyone that is participating in Movember and yes does seem like a pretty elaborate excuse to post the picture to the right. Then again I’ve created more elaborate posts to celebrate less and Nick’s moustache looks nice – real nice. I know – play this game. That really isn’t a game but you know it kinda follows the theme here. The picture without the awesome stache? It was uploaded to the site by an unnamed party who wishes to remain anonymous. I’m sure if you look for it – you can find it.
Don’t look at me – I couldn’t grow facial hair if I tried.
So I found this mildly amusing. Yes – I continue to stand by my claim that the series of televisions programs that have names beginning with “The Real Housewives of…” make you lose IQ points.
So how is this relevant to a high brow establishment like NOSVC where a high IQ and a reasonable amount of background information are needed to follow even the simplest post? 1) At least one of our readers watches said “TRH” programs and might find it amusing. 2) At least one of our readers is from South Boston maybe its SoBo, VA but come on – I’m trying here. 3) I really don’t have anything to write today and this is as close to mailing it in as you can get. and 4) from the 2.5 minutes of “TRH” that I’ve watched – they nailed it.

I’ve featured the webcomic Least I Could Do on the site several times. It is one of my favorites (most days). I thought this was particularly timely and appropriate. Want to learn more about the Occupy movement? Just listen to this masterpiece by Sole (like shoe sole or should there be a little squiggly line over the e?).

I always thought spelled it t-a-i-n-t. Maybe it is the french spelling?
This was in one of the magazines on the plane. Yes it took 10 hours to get here. Modern day air travel – luxury, convenience at 2/3rds the time.
