[singlepic id=7291 w=320 h=240 float=right]The premise sounds simple - run from the belltower at NC State to the Krispy Kreme eat a dozen doughnuts and return in under an hour. Approximate distance 5 miles give or take. This isn't the first time we're been to or participated in the challenge and while it is much harder than it sounds - it is likely the most fun race in Raleigh. Congrats to Mark, EdG, Eileen/iLean, BobG 11.75, Zach, Nick, Lisa, Bentley, the rest of the DC crew and anyone else I may have missed that we saw. Special congrats to those runners ...
The Rembrandt in America exhibit at the NC Museum of Art uses the slogan "You know the name. Now find out why." And much in the same way that I had heard of Genghis Khan I could have told you very little about our other museum guest in the city. Namely he may have been French (not true) and he didn't have a Ninja Turtle named after him (this one is true). Rembrandt in America is the largest collection of Rembrandt paintings ever presented in an American exhibition and the first major exhibition to explore in depth the collecting history of ...
[singlepic id=7209 w=320 h=240 float=right]The name Genghis Khan is probably a familiar one even if you don't know who he was exactly. Before going to the exhibit at the NC Museum of Natural Science I had a very vague idea of who Genghis Khan was and something of a concept of who he was historically but knew very little about the role he played in history. Genghis Khan is famous as the ruthless Mongol warlord who conquered half the known world. Under his rule, the Mongol Empire grew to be four times the size of the Roman Empire at its largest ...

I really will blog on all of these places next week. But right now I am on vacation. That means you’ll have to look at the Photo Gallery and guess what I’ll say about Downtown Portland, The Porthole Restaurant, Harbor Fish Market, Shipyard Brewing Co., The Lobster Shack and Fort Williams Park.
That is the Portland Head Lighthouse in Fort Williams Park to the right.
More to come. If you haven’t guessed by now – we eat some lobster.
I always thought spelled it t-a-i-n-t. Maybe it is the french spelling?
This was in one of the magazines on the plane. Yes it took 10 hours to get here. Modern day air travel – luxury, convenience at 2/3rds the time.
Amazing. Just like a miracle for your taint.
BTW – Don’t click that link up there.
…it would be the sky but internet service isn’t too hot at 20,000 feet. This is the plane I got on earlier today without a boarding pass. Yes – the gate agent told me to do it. I stopped long enough to snap this picture before jumping on and looking for a seat. First person to name the airline I am on as well the other four logos in the image to the right will get something from wherever I end up.
Currently I am in DC at Ronald Regan Airport waiting. Next stop? We’ll see where the space is available and go from there. A couple of pictures from the flight in after the jump.
So these shoes were being advertised in the Sky Mall magazine that everyone flips through while they are waiting for the plane to take off.
Steroids? Did they take a close look at that logo? I’m not sure if you could wear these without getting picked on just a little bit.
Can you imagine wearing these to class in middle school? Or worse have your dad wear them because they were “so comfortable”? Scary.
Close-up after the jump.
