The Fedora 9 Linux distribution has a cool feature that I have wanted for a long time - an operating system on a USB flash drive. I’ve always thought it would be great to be able to boot a machine to another OS to check things out and be able to do it quickly and without trading out hard dives. I’ve ordered two 8GB flash drives and plan to use the information here to try it out later this week. I’ll post the updates but based on what I have read so far I imagine it will be a short post. Either way I’ll do it from a machine that has booted to Fedora from a flash drive.
** It works. I am sitting here now working on Linux from a Windows laptop. Awesome stuff.
